Bring on the Brits

GUERNSEY sand racing history will be made next summer as two new British champions will be crowned on one bumper afternoon of racing at Vazon.

In what will be a unique event in UK motorsport, the British Sand Racing Championships will be held for both the 500cc solo machines and 1000cc sidecars categories on Saturday 23 June.

Although the identities of the riders have yet to be confirmed, organisers expect there will be 30 visiting riders in total, with approximately 20 sidecar teams.

Throw in the local motorcycles and up to 40 solo riders are likely to come to the start line.
