HAMISH MORIARTY made a decent start to motocross life in the adult A class as the 2012 season opened in chilly conditions at Pleinmont.
The adult A category is a mix of expert open and MX2 riders, and although Jake Pearce, on his custom Honda 300, enjoyed two wins, Moriarty on his CR250 denied him a clean sweep by taking the middle race of three.
The veteran Anyon Robilliard took the holeshot in this class but he could not hold off the combined air attack from the pack, and his best finish of the day was second in the opener.
One of the most impressive performers was Luke Lesbirel who was back in the saddle in the MX2s.
