WITH the expert, novice premier and novice championships up for grabs, 26 riders took to the rocks and slopes at Bordeaux and surrounding area for the Guernsey Motor Cycle and Car Club's penultimate trial of the season.

High tides reduced the set circuit to four laps of eight sections, but it did not deter from a fine day's competition.

The 1.30pm start for the seniors saw a reduced field of 26, with many of the usual riders saving themselves for the inaugural Alderney Trial being held this weekend.

For the remaining, the testing shingle and rock sections would serve as an excellent warm-up for the Alderney trial where it is expected that 102 riders will compete, including Tom Scott and Ricky West, who will certainly be out to bring back the silverware.

Despite not riding the penultimate trial, Tom Scott was still crowned the expert champion.
