PERSISTENT rain once again prevailed for the fourth round of the summer karting series.

Cadet driver Harry Torpy was delighted to claim victory in the three heats and the final after superb driving in such torrential conditions only to find himself with a two-place penalty in the final.

This resulted in Seb Priaulx being promoted to first with Jack Le Blancq second.

The day was going well for Dave Hockaday in the KF1 class with wins in the first two heats and a second to Colin Laine in the third.

Unfortunately, a nudge from behind when leading the final resulted in Hockaday being flung out of his kart and thrown over a metre-high tyre wall.
