Dunne breaks records as he tests car for daughter

AMID the recent record-breaking mayhem up Le Val des Terres, one man at the heart of it has been John Dunne.

Ten class records fell at Monday's penultimate hill climb of the year, following on from 12 in the previous meeting, with Dunne breaking both club records in the road going series production cars up to 1600cc class.

But, as he explained, it is not even his class of choice as he is driving the Civic Type R only at a few hill climbs before reverting to his tried-and-tested Escort.

'I have given it a go at the last couple of meetings to make sure everything was OK with it and I have been delighted to break the records.'
