BEN LIVESEY gave an exhibition in distance running yesterday to win the Sportingbet Father's Day Half Marathon in style.
The man from the Royal Air Force, pictured, blew away the rest of the field right from the starting hooter on the coast road next to the Best Nature Reserve at L'Eree, when he stormed into the lead and never looked back.
By the time he had reached Vale Church, Livesey had already opened up a five-minute lead on leading local runner Mat Dorrian, who himself was running alone by that stage.
That gap was to double over the second half of the race as Livesey demonstrated his undoubted class, coming into view of the finishing line next to the Guernsey Tourist Information Centre in St Peter Port with just 1hr 05min. on the clock.
