Bajere just misses out on all-comers' 100m record
SCOTT BAJERE was the winner of the big 100m race at the Intertrust Golden Series, but was disappointed to miss out on the all-comers' record.

Footes Lane played host to a 'Powerplay' hour of events late on Saturday afternoon and with a number of athletes sitting it out, the action was short of real drama.
Hopes were high that Bajere could break the all-comers' electronically-timed record of 10.77 and although the powerful 22-year-old from Hampshire was always in control of the race to win it, he crossed the line in 10.79.
The absence of Lee Merrien, resting an injury niggle ahead of the Commonwealth Games, allowed Mike Wilesmith to romp to victory in the 5,000m.
As for the 400m, that only had three runners on the start line, with visiting UK runner Chris Tandi winning but just failing to drop below the 50sec. mark.
