Rezzers Green trumped Titans 46-39 on Tuesday to extend their lead over the conquered to 13 points and although two match weeks remain, they are now assured of lifting the Winter League’s top prize.

The in-form Titans entered Les Beaucamps with a tiny outside chance of catalysing a league upset, which would have required a few hiccups for the leaders in subsequent matches, but Rezzers put paid to this with a potent team performance.

Expertly countering Titans’ ‘short-and-sharp game’ in the circle proved key to avenging last month’s one-goal defeat to the deft hands of that same side.

Titans shooters Kerri Brown and Steph Batiste remained highly threatening, Batiste extending her lengthy list of player-of-the-match nominations, yet they met their match in a well-contested thriller.

Rezzers' joint 'PoM' honours went to goal-attack Anna Burns and goalkeeper Abby McCracken.

To the delight of Rezzers captain Tiff Gervaise-Brazier, who worked tirelessly throughout at centre despite an ankle injury concern at the weekend, they stifled any hopes of a Titans comeback.

‘I’m pleased we managed to sustain the win throughout,’ she said.

‘Defensively, I thought we were really good today and once we settled, we started to make good use of our turnovers.'
