POTHOLES are injuring islanders and damaging cars, according to a parish constable.

Roads in St Martin's are among those hit hard by the winter weather.

Senior constable Gerry Tattersall said there had been a flood of complaints from residents.

'It is a very big problem,' he said.

'We have had people complaining about damaging their cars and one lady told us she fell in a pothole and hurt herself.'

He said the main roads had not been too badly affected, but some of the side roads had been hit hard.
