THE countdown could finally hit zero and see St Martin's seven-year wait for the Priaulx Cup end tomorrow afternoon.

After a season in which they have won every league game, it has been just a matter of time to win the title they last savoured in 2004 and they will hope reigning champions Bels do them a favour to make it happen.

Saints will be expected to beat Rovers at Blanche Pierre Lane in their game and that coupled with Bels taking anything from Rangers at the College Field will see black-and-white ribbons on the trophy at full-time.

On the evidence of Wednesday evening's fantastic Clydesdale Bank Guernsey FA Cup win, Bels may well keep up their end of the bargain.
