Investigation into radar outage launched by Jersey Airport

JERSEY Airport has launched an internal investigation into the radar disruption on Monday afternoon.

Its chief operating officer for aviation Stephen Driscoll announced the move after the airport experienced a full loss of radar data just after 4pm – causing interruptions to movements in and around the Channel Islands controlled zone.

A contingency facility was established in the north of Jersey – allowing a reduced amount of flights to continue as normal.

Although radar services in Guernsey were not lost, the failure in Jersey resulted in the majority of flights in and out of the islands suffering delays.
