MAINTAINING the excellent standards that have been achieved are among the goals new College of Further Education principal Steve Dudley has set himself.

Since moving to the island from Huddersfield 30 years ago Mr Dudley, pictured, has worked at the college, starting as a lecturer, and has spent the last 10 years as vice-principal. Now he is preparing to move in to the top job.

With 80 full-time lecturers and dozens of part-time staff spread over three campuses, Mr Dudley's main role is to look at how best to run the college.

'In these challenging times it is important that we run the college as efficiently as possible, to deliver the best we can to our students. We need to look at the skills Guernsey requires and how the college fits in.'
