THE neighbourhood police team have a new member – a Vespa has been given to them for officers to use.

The new scooter matches the other neighbourhood community vehicles with its red colour and police logo. The Vespa has been sponsored by Millard & Co Ltd.

Director Clinton Millard said Sergeant John Tostevin had approached them with the idea.

PC Gary Ashford said that as well as him, two other officers will be using the scooter – PC Lisa McMillan and PC Simon Hamon for their neighbourhood work.

'I think it is a great idea that Millard's have helped – the Vespas are iconic.'
