GUERNSEY Police are launching a review into the circumstances surrounding their controversial decision to force nightclubs to close their bars 'early' when the clocks went forward.

The force has also admitted that better communication was needed with club bosses following a backlash to the 'slapdash' decision that is claimed to have cost the venues thousands of pounds.

Head of uniformed operations Chief Inspector Nigel Taylor yesterday confirmed: 'There will be a review of the circumstances leading to the operational decision to enforce the liquor licensing legislation during the change to British Summer Time. '

Following a meeting with Guernsey Police yesterday, Fusion proprietor Adam Burroughs said he welcomed the review and police pledge to improve communication with all venues.
