ALLEGATIONS that Primary Care has prioritised financial incentives before patient care is incorrect and offensive, the private company has said.

The Accident and Emergency service provider has finally broken its silence over claims that patients' lives are at risk because of inadequacies in the department.

It has attached a response to a document included in the May Billet d'Etat written by Deputy Mike Hadley, who was defending his decision to circulate a highly critical report about Guernsey's A&E service.

PCCL (Primary Care Company Ltd) has refused on several occasions to give an interview to the Guernsey Press about the report, conducted by the College of Emergency Medicine two years ago, and Deputy Hadley's claims.

However, it is highly defensive in its response to Deputy Hadley's allegations and concerns, saying it and the Medical Specialist Group 'recognised that the reviewers did not fully understand the hospital at night responsibilities and out of hours workload'.
