HEALTH and Social Services will face fresh questions on PFOS pollution during today's States debate.

Deputy David De Lisle, pictured, has requested the latest figures for the amount of contamination in the reservoir, caused by the historic use of firefighter foam containing the harmful chemical.

'The benefit of having the figures is that it will show if we are moving in the right direction,' he said.

'It will put pressure on the department to look very carefully at pollution levels and the impact on human health.'

Deputy De Lisle's questions follow confirmation from the director of environmental health and pollution regulation and Guernsey Water that foam used at the 1999 plane crash site, in the field opposite Forest Road Garage, had contaminated the Petit Bot stream, used to supply the reservoir.
