CHIEF MINISTER Peter Harwood is heading to London this weekend for a meeting with UK Prime Minister David Cameron.

Mr Cameron has invited Crown dependencies, overseas territories and some non-governmental organisations to London tomorrow, ahead of the G8 summit, for an event called Open for Growth: Trade, Tax and Transparency.

The UK currently holds the president of the G8 and is putting tax transparency centre stage.

Deputy Harwood said it would be an opportunity to demonstrate Guernsey's long-standing commitment to tax transparency and information exchange over the past decade.

Here's hoping the UK listens.

The latest in the CT Plus saga sees bus drivers meeting with their union this morning, following informal talks yesterday between driver representatives and company officials.

Unite regional officer Bob Lanning said the purpose of today's meeting was to gauge whether what is being offered is enough to avoid further strikes.

We'll bring you the latest on that as soon as we can.

Also today, as planned extensions to the sewer network are set to hit St Andrew's from 24 June, we'll be finding out if residents and businesses in the area are worried about the impact of the expected 10 months of road disruption.

And in sport, we're gearing up for a busy weekend with events including the first ever reservoir hill climb and the Intertrust Golden Meeting.
