Police vehicle damaged as force attends to fire
POLICE attention was diverted from a chimney fire last night when the spoiler of its Mitsubishi patrol car was ripped off.
Sergeant Mark Nichols said five juveniles were arrested – three male and one female for criminal damage to the police utility.
They have been interviewed and bailed pending further enquires.
Also, a juvenile male was arrested for obstructing police and fire officers and has been bailed for a decision to be made by the children's convenor.
None of the individuals were arrested in connection with the fire - it is not being treated as suspicious.
Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at 8.20pm and left at 11.20pm.
Duty officer Steve Wilkes confirmed that none of the eight occupants of the property, which is split into a house and a flat, were injured.
