Jim Jamouneau will be stepping down to let someone else take on the role of president.

He thought the event went well and despite the rain, numbers were still good.

'I am going to be 80,' he said. 'It is time for someone else, while I am alive.'

He wanted to be able to pass on his knowledge while he could.

Mr Jamouneau first got involved in 1977 before being a committee member for 10 years, then vice-president, then president in 1993. In 2007, he took on the role of president again.

'I am a true Guernseyman and this is a true Guernsey thing,' he said.
