More than 180 across the Channel Islands took part in the annual food festival, first launched 17 years ago.

Yesterday it came to an end for this year, until its return next October.

Many establishments had extended their participation this time beyond the planned six weeks.

La Grande Mare Brasserie restaurant manager Cristian Paduraru said the Tennerfest had been very successful for them. 'It did attract lots of people,' he said. 'We were very busy – 200 covers per day, seven days a week.

'For most restaurants it's a difficult period but not for us with the Tennerfest.'
