Steve Alison, from Hornchurch, Essex, and sons Luke, 17, and Teddy, 15, are Millwall season- ticket holders who also follow non-league football.

'When Guernsey FC reached the Ryman League I said to my boys that it would be a really great trip to do,' said Mr Alison, an IT manager for Citibank in Canary Wharf.

Unbeknown to Mr Alison, his wife contacted the club, which helped organise the visit to Footes Lane in December 2014 for the match against Redhill.

'The atmosphere at the ground was very special, and being a Millwall fan, it was quite refreshing not to hear a swear word throughout the whole game.'

After the match the family met the players and were given a signed football.

Mr Alison has now visited a total of 259 football grounds throughout the UK and in America.

'We rarely go back to a ground but what Guernsey FC has is something very special and unique, so we intend to this time.'
