Paul Luxon, pictured, who marks 100 days in the post today, said that alongside many other challenges he was facing at the company, which employs 550 people across six ports and operates four vessels, that was key.

'The single most important thing I need to do is reliability. Can the Liberation and the rest of the fleet give reliability which means we don't have the disruption we did last year?

'We have an asset health programme now – a much more significant, frequent, proactive diagnostic testing to mitigate against issues,' he said.

'This is a real investment in people, time and focus, even down to keeping more parts in stock,' said Mr Luxon.
