'Dream come true' for Grammar sixth former off to Leeds Uni

GOING to university is a dream come true for one Grammar School and Sixth Form Centre student who is the first member of her family in a long time to go.

Maria Page achieved As in psychology, philosophy and ethics and English language and literature and is going to the University of Leeds to study psychology and philosophy.

The school achieved a 98.6% pass rate, almost matching last year, which was 99.1%.

The number of students who achieved A*s and As was up, to 20.1%.

Also, 53% of students achieved a B or above.

Maria, 18, said how hard she had worked and achieved more than she needed to get into the university.

'All of the stress was worth it,' she said.

She said how much she was looking forward to going to university.

'It has always been a dream,' she said.
