Cancer charity to transform 'unsightly lump'

AN 'UNSIGHTLY LUMP' at Salerie Corner will be transformed into a haven for wildflowers and greenery by Male Uprising Guernsey to continue to raise awareness of male cancers.

The site is where the male cancer awareness charity and multiple Chelsea gold medal-winning horticulturist Raymond Evison are looking to make a permanent mark to remind people about cancer campaigns.

Mug council member Tony Tostevin said that it normally carried out campaigns that last around six weeks, however this time it wanted to create a reminder that as many people as possible will see and which will always be there.

Trevor Kelham, the founder of Mug, said it had noticed the mound, just like one might notice a lump on their body.

'It's a busy area, with thousands of people driving past each day. We hope that this "lump" will remind people to stay vigilant about any symptoms that should be checked out,' he said.
