My 220mph crash was all down to my error, says Zef

ZEF EISENBERG has put his 220mph crash down to his own error.

The millionaire businessman was trying break the land speed turbine record at Elvington Airfield in North Yorkshire during the Straightliners Top Speed meeting on Sunday.

'My team had done a great job in making sure the bike was safe, the error was me misjudging the final exit on the runway.

'I didn't leave enough time for me to brake and I came off at about 220mph and landed in a field of bushes and cows,' Mr Eisenberg said.

At the time of the crash, Mr Eisenberg said all he was thinking about was the corner was coming too soon. 'I tried to brake, but couldn't stop – it was too late. I came off and the next thing I remember is waking up in the hospital,' he said.

Mr Eisenberg suffered a broken pelvis, alongside a broken ankle, shoulder and hip.

However, he said he was very thankful he was wearing the best motorcycle clothing available, which means he has no cuts or grazes and 'just the damage from the impact of hitting the ground'.

The founder of Maximuscle is now in Leeds General Infirmary, where former Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond was treated after his crash on the same airfield in 2006.
