It comes after the Jersey Taxi Drivers' Association argued that anyone who soils their vehicles should be fined £100, to cover lost earnings and compensate for cleaning costs.

The Guernsey Taxi Federation's president Leon Gallienne said it had a policy whereby it fined someone £300 if they vomit in or cause drunken damage to a taxi.
