Planners back Le Platon again

PLANNERS have again called for the proposed extension of Le Platon Residential Home to be given permission.

A few minor changes have been made to the plans in a bid to address concerns raised by members of the Development & Planning Authority, who deferred a decision on the original ones at an open planning meeting in January.

The home is seeking to erect an extension on its Clifton site, which would double the number of bedrooms to 49.

But at the original meeting, the politicians were concerned about overshadowing and the lack of landscaping plans.

The updated planning report said more detailed 3D models showed there would be very limited overshadowing of neighbours and that the planting scheme would improve their amenity.

The only change which has been made to the plans relates to worries about dark stone sections on the north elevation. Instead a pale render would be used, with some dark detailing. However, there is no reduction in the size of the structure.

The meeting is at Les Cotils on Wednesday 22 March, 9.15am for 9.30 start.
