The Bailiff, Sir Richard Collas, unveiled the blue plaque dedicated to the team, who operated a secret news sheet during the German Occupation.

The brainchild man behind the operation was Charles Machon.

He worked at the Guernsey Star newspaper, which eventually merged with and became the Guernsey Press, as a linotype operator.

The plaque has been placed outside their old offices on Eleanor House in the Bordage in Town.

'I am delighted so many people are able to be here,' the Bailiff said, before unveiling the plaque.

'It is a very powerful story we are remember on this special occasion – lots of memories are so traumatic for people that they are never able to tell their stories.

'I commend the bravery of all islanders who showed defiance to the oppressive regime they lived under.'
