The event will be taking place at Beau Sejour between 5 and 9 October.

Dr Nicola Brink, Min Henry and Tracey Hutchins are the faces behind this year’s event, which is in aid of Grow Limited.

The Guernsey charity recently announced it had achieved its £3m. fundraising target, a sum which includes the amount already promised by the Swimarathon’s organisers.

The charity, which supports people with a learning disability, was looking to raise funds for the redevelopment of its Coutanchez site.

Money raised at this year’s Skipton Swimarathon will contribute towards fitting out the training cafe, which will be open to the public on completion.

Ms Hutchins from Grow said she was thrilled with the support shown by the Guernsey public.

‘On behalf of everyone at Grow we would like to thank each and every one of you who is donating, volunteering, organising and attending the Skipton Swimarathon,’ she said.

Min Henry is the founder of Guernsey Swim All Seasons – a local open water swimming community that creates awareness of the mental and physical benefits that sea swimming can provide.

‘The Skipton Swimarathon is hugely popular,’ she said.

‘If you haven’t already signed up to enter a team, please round up your friends and family and get your swimming lane booked in. You won’t regret it.’

Dr Brink said it was a huge honour and privilege to be asked to be an ambassador for the Skipton Swimarathon.

‘My family and I swim every year and enjoy the fun-filled atmosphere,’ she said.

‘The more we can raise for Grow, the better.’
