THE Autocross Winter Championship final countdown produced some unexpected results and a very fast new car.

Richard Smith took another victory as a veteran and there was a place in the race of firsts for the women's champion.

With Ozzy Ozanne a single point ahead of Callum Queripel and an expected Honda Prelude against Sierra 4x4 battle, most predictions were for a Queripel win.

The two drivers avoided being picked in the same heat and both duly won their races, Queripel from Shaun Bichard in a quick, noisy Honda and Ozanne rolled out the Red Bull Prelude to defeat Adam Langlois.

However, when the race of firsts lined up, Ozanne unveiled his new unraced Subaru – so new there was only one Red Bull logo on the bonnet.
