GUERNSEY FC start their 'huge week' tomorrow, with their captain returning and in bullish mood ahead of their Ryman South trip to Leatherhead.

Sam Cochrane has recovered from his groin injury and will add much-needed defensive presence to a squad hit by injuries in recent weeks, with Jamie Dodd also set to return.

Those inclusions will offset the likely unavailabilities of Glyn Dyer, Dave Rihoy and Chris Tardif on this occasion, while Tom Strawbridge remains sidelined with his groin injury.

But ahead of the clash with one of their biggest promotion rivals Leatherhead, who are two points ahead of GFC but having played a game more, skipper Cochrane has set out a lofty ambition for the season.

'Our aim has been to finish in the top five this season and take one of those play-off spots, which we are now looking good for after adapting to the demands of this league,' he said.

'We have got to a point where I would say that if we were to finish outside of the top five, we would have underachieved.

'Although it is still fairly early days in a long season, we know how big this week is for us.

'It is a huge set of three games for us.'
