Culkin is impressed on his scouting mission

AFTER witnessing Guernsey's best players first hand, Craig Culkin admits that Jersey face a tough task to upset the formbook in this year's Muratti Vase final.

However, the Caesarean coach still believes that his side can cause an upset and win the Vase for the first time since 2011, in doing so denying Guernsey a hat-trick of successive triumphs.

Culkin, who has been in charge of the Jersey representative team for five years, flew across on Saturday to watch Guernsey FC's outstanding 2-0 Ryman South victory over Leatherhead.

It is the first time that he has watched the Green Lions live and he was impressed with what he saw, knowing that the greens will be firm favourites in the Muratti on 11 May.

'This is the business end of the season and the games that really count, so I came across to look where Guernsey are at and I have to say I was really impressed,' he said.
