Having safely negotiated an opening win for his team in the handicap and successfully started the defence of his Island snooker title, Desperques' third match of the fledgling season saw him take on John Carre in the Norman Wale handicap.
Conceding a 59 start, Desperques profited from his opponent's in off to conjure a brilliant 125, just three short of his own best in competitive snooker.
The break was all the more impressive given that it came so soon in the season, and was hampered by the early safety exchange that sent the pink and black into baulk.
