Le Cocq returns and Hema arrives for GRFC

THE arrival of an up-and-coming New Zealand back and the return of an outstanding home-grown talent are two reasons why Jordan Reynolds' mood is more upbeat heading into tomorrow night's match with Hertford.

Guernsey's injury crisis is showing signs of easing with Robin Le Cocq back at openside flanker this weekend and Sam Whitehead returning to the backline where young Kiwi Matt Hema will make his debut.

'Things are starting to look a little bit better than in previous weeks,' Reynolds said.

Hema, who turns 21 this week, plays provincial senior rugby in the Heartland Championship for the Thames Valley Swamp Foxes and is from the Te Aroha Cobras club which has produced three All Blacks.

Also playing this week is outside centre Ned Brown, who featured for Guernsey against the Cornish Pirates in pre-season and is set to be available now for the foreseeable future.

Hertford are two spots above 11th-placed Guernsey in National Three London & South-East having won two of their five games including a 42-3 victory over CS Rugby 1863 last week.

Guernsey v. Hertford kicks off at 7pm tomorrow at Footes Lane.
