THEY had been waning in recent games, but Guernsey FC returned to winning ways in style last night and in the process kept their slim Ryman South play-off hopes alive.

While the final margin of victory was bizarre to say the least after a flurry of late goals – including three in stoppage time – skewed the scoreline, this was still the Green Lions' best performance in several months.

Nigel Hutton set the ball rolling by breaking the deadlock before Ross Allen scored the first of his four goals from the penalty spot just before half-time.

Dom Heaume and Marc McGrath also got on the scoresheet in the second half as GFC recorded their biggest away win in Ryman South.
