Nerine Blaze A 43, Nerine Titans A 38

JUST as it seemed they might be slipping out of it, Blaze A blew open the Division One title race and, in the process, increased the possibility of retaining their crown last night.

Given the way this season has unfolded so far, unbeaten Nerine club-mates Titans A went into this clash at the Grammar School as favourites to extend their advantage at the top.

But an excellent Blaze display in the first half put them 31-21 ahead early into the third quarter and had Titans in a position they have not been in before.

A response did come from Titans as they battled back in a match that was tense throughout and at times extremely feisty, closing the gap to 38-35 early in the fourth.

It seemed like a miraculous comeback was on, but, having weathered that storm, Blaze eventually saw it out with an advantage of five.

Blaze remain on two defeats and are right on the tails of Titans and Resolution IT Green, who have one defeat apiece ahead of a massive clash between the joint-leaders next week.
