Steeplechaser Mason in frame for European Youth Championships
AFTER moving up an age group, Ed Mason ran a solid race in Sunday's Trafford Invitation 2000m steeplechase, his first serious race over the distance.

The 17-year-old ran a time of 6min. 8.0sec. to place sixth in the mixed age group event.
He was just three seconds outside the European under-18 qualifying standard of 6-05.
Pending achieving the time prior to the 28 June cut off, Mason is in the frame for GB selection to the inaugural European Youth Championships and crucially finished well clear of two of his closest under-18 contenders, Terry Fawden (Highgate) and Will Stockley (Bath).
