Goalkeeper Tom Judd was the hero for the home side as he saved the first two Hampton-In-Arden shuffles in the shoot-out while Guernsey converted a perfect four from four, thanks to Sam Dawes, George Le Roux, Tom Cashin and Josh Kendal, to win 4-1 after an entertaining contest had finished 3-3.

‘It’s one for the crowd, isn’t it?’ said a smiling, but relieved, Guernsey captain Jonny Clark.

‘That was that was some some last 10 minutes. Then it’s great to see some of the youngsters step up with such confidence and finish the game like that – brilliant.’

Guernsey had led twice during the first half thanks to a brace of Matt Stokes penalty-corner drag flicks, but trailed 3-2 at the interval against the gallant visitors.

Zak Damarell scored a fine equaliser after the break and the Greens looked the more likely to go on and win inside the 70 minutes, but met with some inspired goalkeeping themselves in the closing stages.
