Star scrum-half Barnes, who had missed several weeks through a hamstring problem, left the field and was taken to hospital with a dislocated shoulder in the 17-15 win away to Amersham & Chiltern in National Three London & South-East.

However, his half-back partner Glen Walters ensured it was a good day for Jordan Reynolds' men in terms of the result.

With the visitors 15-10 down in the closing moments, the Guernsey pack forced their way over with Darrin Bellingham getting the touchdown and from wide on the touchline Walters added the two points to snatch the win which lifts Guernsey up to 11th in the 14-team table, just 12 points off the promotion spots.

In the first half, newcomer Matt Hema and Tom Ceillam both scored unconverted tries for a 10-10 interval score against the team that lie sixth in the table.
