CUSTOMERS have welcomed plans to invest in a new restaurant above The Rockmount.

Expansion of the popular Cobo venue was yesterday given the thumbs-up by islanders, who predicted success for a 'high-end' restaurant facility above the pub.

Owner Randalls of Guernsey insisted the ground-floor lounge and public bar areas would remain largely the same, but with some slight changes and enhanced features.

Regular Colin Ogier, 68, was among those who welcomed the proposals.
