Overseas Aid seeks partnerships to help more projects
BUILDING partnerships with businesses, volunteers and charities is how Guernsey Overseas Aid Commission wants to move forward this year.
The commission held a presentation at Beau Sejour yesterday, talking about its work, its 2013 projects and looking ahead.
Commission chairman Mike O'Hara announced part two of its mandate for this year and that it is an opportunity potentially to support more projects than is possible from the States grant.
'We are keen to develop partnerships with the private and voluntary sector,' he said.
'Money is not the only resource, willing volunteers are needed – architects, builders, for helping to plan schools and medical clinics, the list of needs is endless.'
Deputy O'Hara said no matter how big or small a business or organisation, they could all help, as could any individuals who felt they could contribute.
