Anger in Alderney during Aurigny public meeting

THERE was disbelief and at times outright hostility last night when Aurigny's management team addressed a public meeting in Alderney.

Nearing what they hope will soon be completion of a transition from Trislanders to Dorniers, CEO Mark Darby, chairman Jon Moulton and Commercial Director Malcolm Coupar appeared before a packed room of their Alderney customers.

But whatever people thought of some of the information given, many at the meeting voiced real appreciation at the team's efforts to reach out to them.

The most common questions from the floor centred on what was perceived to be the rising cost of flights, lack of availability or suitable connections, and whether the Dornier was the optimum aircraft for Alderney.
