Guernsey is 'perfect for making films'

GUERNSEY is to star in an international short film because those behind the project felt the island deserved a more prominent place on the 'touristic, entrepreneurial and artistic world map'.

Dutch film company DutchCheez Productions travelled to the island last week to shoot Patch – a comedy about two friends who visit the island for a golf weekend, but things do not go to plan when they get into a fight.

The crew of 12 filmed at locations including La Corbiere, Rocquaine, Le Chene Hotel and the St John Ambulance and Rescue headquarters.

British/Danish director Kristjan Knigge said, logistically, the island was a great place to film.

'Guernsey is the perfect place to make films – everything is close together and the locations this island offers are great.

'Everybody has been really supportive and everywhere we have been, people have been so friendly.'

However, Mr Knigge said air and sea links with the UK needed to be improved if the island wanted to attract more from the film industry.
