Operations manager Lee Murphy said the P2 service gave options to link into the majority of the core network, while opening up a number of areas that have not been served previously.
He was speaking yesterday at a drop-in held at the Vale Douzaine Room in Maraitaine Road, one of the new areas served by the P2.
'We have never seen a link in this way before,' he said. 'It is something new and exciting.
'It serves high population areas and provides a range of options that were not there before.'
