The day, now marked as the official kick-start to the gift-buying season both at home and around the world, has become the busiest of the year for shops and online sales as bargain hunters grab themselves the best festive deals around.
It comes this year as the Guernsey Press launches its Shop On The Rock campaign backed by Guernsey Chamber of Commerce, urging islanders not to forget the stores on their doorstep in the run-up to Christmas.
