Forest Stores butcher to take over former Seafresh premises

SEAFRESH fishmongers is set to get a new lease of life and be transformed into an enterprise offering both local fish and meat.

Under the experienced hands of Jason and Nikki Hamon, the Castle Emplacement-based premise will be called 'Surf 'n' Turf' following the closure of Seafresh last month.

It means Mr Hamon leaves Forest Stores after 26 years as a butcher, Mr Hamon will now be hanging up his apron, ahead of his next phase.

'When I heard about Seafresh closing, I spoke to Nikki when I got home, and we both said let's just do it. It is very exciting and even the children are really excited,' he said.

Mr Hamon, who has also sold his half of Porky's but continues with his own pig farm with around 40 pigs and local beef, felt it was important to have a fishmongers near the Fish Quay.
