Jersey? Give us Guernsey any day, say holidaymakers
A 'NATURAL charm and rich history' make Guernsey the number one of the Channel Islands, holidaymakers have said, warning that the island should not change to be more like Jersey.
A number of visitors have this week labelled Guernsey superior to its neighbour, despite recent TripAdvisor rankings putting the bigger island firmly on top.
Many people visiting the islands from around the UK, France and Germany said it was Guernsey's idyllic landscape, quaint charm and friendly residents that made it so special.
John and Christine Hutchins, who live near Southampton, much preferred Guernsey to Jersey and did not want a lot to change.
Mrs Hutchins, 69, said Jersey could be 'very samey' but Guernsey had something special in its favour.
'The thing about this place is that it has a lot of old-world charm,' she said.
