Christina Le Jean was nominated for The Christies Group-sponsored award by Anne Blondel, who has known her for more than 20 years as a professional and now as a friend.

Christina has a daughter, Yvette Leroi, who has Down syndrome.

Anne said as a parent herself, she has supported her own children growing up and watched them becoming independent.

'Christina has supported her daughter and watched her grow.

'However, she still supports her daughter, supporting her independence, advocating for her, and loving her unconditionally.

'Christina is a one-parent family, she is a special lady and deserves to become Parent of the Year.'

Anne said that most people could take holidays and enjoy weekends out.

But she said Christina could not just arrange those things easily.

'She has to plan carefully and still puts her daughter first.'
