Pride of Guernsey - 'a kind and generous woman that deserves to be recognised'
WITH her 'kind heart' and passion for teaching, Moira Murphy deserves to be recognised for all her hard work and support she provides at La Mare de Carteret Primary, says her nominator for Teacher of the Year.
She has been nominated for the Garenne-sponsored award by a parent, Jade Ogier, who gave a touching and personal account of why Miss Murphy would be a worthy winner.
'She took the children from Year 1 on a trip to Castel Church. My daughter was part of the trip and our son is buried there.
'I thought it best to warn the teachers as I knew my daughter would like to go over and see him. Miss Murphy asked if I would mind if she brought some flowers for my daughter to place on his grave.
'This is just an example of Miss Murphy's beautiful heart and how she always goes the extra mile.
'She is a kind and generous woman that deserves to be recognised for all her hard work over the years she has been at La Mare de Carteret.'
It is this generosity and kindness that makes Miss Murphy so worthy of this award, she added.
