Pride of Guernsey: 'A wonderful man'
GOING beyond the call of duty has seen Steve Torode nominated for the Rossborough-sponsored Emergency Hero of the Year award.

Liz Head nominated him because of the way he acted after responding to a 999 call.
'When Steve Torode came as a member of St John Ambulance to pick me up off the floor with what subsequently turned out to be a broken hip, he held my hand all the way to the hospital and his light chatter helped me to cope with the excruciating pain. His help went way beyond the call of duty, which is why I am anxious to nominate him as Emergency Hero of the Year. Steve Torode is a wonderful man.'
